Arista Networking Switch

Arista networking switches intelligently direct data traffic between multiple devices, sending data only where it needs to go. Widely used in cloud, hyperscale, and high-performance data centre networks, Arista switches deliver low-latency switching, advanced programmability, and powerful network visibility through the Arista EOS operating system.

At ITinStock, we stock a range of high-quality new and refurbished Arista networking switches, from the compact enterprise campus 720X Series through to the high-performance data centre 7050X, 7060X, and 7280R Series, as well as modular 7500R chassis platforms for large-scale core and spine deployments. With a huge range available, there’s sure to be an Arista networking switch for you.

Benefits of Arista Networking Switches

An Arista network switch connects your IT infrastructure through a single operating system shared across every platform in the portfolio. Every Arista switch runs EOS (Extensible Operating System), and integrates with configuration management platforms such as Ansible and Terraform without proprietary agents. All Arista switches also support CloudVision, which provides real-time streaming telemetry, network-wide configuration management, and zero-touch provisioning.

Arista 720X and 710P Series switches cover campus and branch access switching. The 7050X, 7060X, 7160, and 7280R Series cover data centre leaf and spine roles. High availability in Arista data centre deployments is typically achieved through MLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation), which pairs two physical switches into a single active/active logical device without the need for proprietary stacking cables. As with the wider Arista portfolio, all Layer 2 and Layer 3 features are included in EOS with no separate per-feature licences required.

Why Choose Refurbished Arista Networking Switches from ITinStock?

At ITinStock, we are happy to discuss any bespoke configurations for your Arista networking setup, whether that's a specific port count, uplink speed, airflow direction, or redundant power supply configuration. Each of our refurbished Arista switches undergoes rigorous testing, in which all ports are verified for connectivity and throughput, firmware is checked and updated where required, and each unit is reset to factory defaults before dispatch. We can deliver quickly to the UK and worldwide using our courier partners. Our expert support team are on hand to help with any pre-sales questions and compatibility queries you may have.

Complement Your Arista Network Setup

Maximise your networking investment with these complementary IT components:

  • Rack Servers Arista switches integrate with all major server platforms via open standards and eAPI, meaning our full range of rack servers can pair with these switches.
  • Network Transceivers Take a look at compatible SFP, SFP+, QSFP+, and QSFP28 transceivers at 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 40GbE, and 100GbE speeds.
  • UPS Systems Protect your network investment with an Uninterruptible Power Supply to ensure continuous connectivity during power disruptions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Arista networking switch series do you stock?

Our refurbished Arista switch range spans the full 7000 Series portfolio, covering campus access, data centre leaf, spine, and modular core platforms. In the campus range, the 710P Series offers compact fanless PoE access switches, while the 720D and 720X Series provide higher-density multigigabit campus access and aggregation with redundant power options. In the data centre range, the 7050X and 7050CX Series are widely deployed 10GbE and 25GbE top-of-rack leaf switches with 40GbE and 100GbE uplinks. The 7060X and 7060X4 Series offer high-density 25GbE and 100GbE options suited to leaf or small spine roles. The 7280R Series delivers a wide variety of mixed port configurations for routing, storage, and data centre interconnect roles. The 7500R modular chassis supports large-scale spine and core deployments with up to 576 ports of 100GbE per chassis. If you need a specific model not currently listed, contact our team and we will check availability.

What makes Arista EOS different from other network operating systems?

Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System) is built on an unmodified Linux kernel, which gives it several significant advantages over traditional proprietary network operating systems. Because EOS is Linux-based, network administrators can use standard Linux tools directly on the switch for diagnostics, scripting, and integration without learning a separate proprietary interface. EOS uses a state-sharing architecture where all system state is stored in a single in-memory database called SysDB, which all processes read from and write to independently. This means that if any individual software process fails, it can restart without affecting the rest of the switch or causing a network outage. EOS also ships as a single binary image that runs identically across every platform in the Arista portfolio, from access switches to modular chassis, so skills and automation scripts built for one Arista platform work on all others without modification. Access to all EOS features, including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, and MLAG, is included with no per-feature licence fees.

How does Arista MLAG work, and how does it compare to traditional switch stacking?

MLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation) is Arista's primary method for building redundant, high-availability switch pairs in both campus and data centre environments. Two independent physical switches are connected via a dedicated peer link and a separate heartbeat link, and a downstream device such as a server or access switch connects to both switches simultaneously using a standard LACP port channel. From the downstream device's perspective, it appears to be connected to a single logical switch, and traffic can flow over both uplinks simultaneously in an active/active configuration. If one MLAG peer fails, traffic continues uninterrupted over the surviving switch with no need for Spanning Tree to reconverge. Unlike traditional stacking technologies that require proprietary stacking cables and limit the physical distance between stack members, MLAG uses standard Ethernet links for the peer connection and imposes no restriction on the distance between the two switches, making it well suited to both rack-level and cross-row redundancy designs.

Do Arista switches require a CloudVision subscription to operate?

No. Arista switches are fully functional without CloudVision and can be managed locally via the EOS CLI, web UI, or eAPI from the moment they are powered on. All Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, including VXLAN, EVPN, BGP, OSPF, and MLAG, are available in EOS without any management platform or subscription. CloudVision is an optional management platform, available as an on-premises virtual or physical appliance or as a cloud SaaS service, that adds network-wide configuration management, real-time streaming telemetry, zero-touch provisioning, and automated change management across the entire Arista estate. It is particularly useful for organisations managing large numbers of Arista switches across multiple sites, as it provides a single interface for configuration, visibility, and troubleshooting across data centre, campus, and WAN domains. For organisations ordering refurbished Arista switches from ITinStock, each unit arrives reset to factory default.

Does ITinStock offer warranty on refurbished IT equipment?

Yes. All our refurbished IT equipment - servers, storage, networking and components, are thoroughly inspected and tested before dispatch to make sure they function as intended. In the event that any equipment develops a fault or arrives damaged through no fault of the customer, we offer a 3-year warranty on all refurbished equipment covering repair or replacement. Please speak with our account managers and customer service team for full warranty terms and conditions.
